Due to Covid 19 the physical gallery is currently closed so sales and enquiries should be directed through here .
Meanwhile I have set up studio at home and I'm painting furiously ( not just decorating ) to have plenty of fresh stock for when we can open again . I am also taking commissions if you have something specific in mind.
I will update the site with new paintings as they happen so please check back regularly . Online sales are very welcome and all questions will be answered asap so please do use the contact page . I look forward to the time that I can once again welcome people over across the threshold of Ochre.
Ochre is the working studio and gallery for landscape artist Richard Brinley. Situated in the historic heart of Kirkcudbright, Scotland’s Artists Town. Ochre Gallery and Studio is a welcoming space where you are invited to view Richard’s paintings of Galloway as well as seeing work in progress , maybe you will enjoy the smell of turpentine . As well as originals and work in progress a large range of fine art Giclee prints and cards of Richards work are always available .
Ochre also has the work of other artists and craftspeople on display including photography from David Whittingham and John Priestly (postcards) , Japanese woodblock prints from fellow Kirkcudbright artist Claire Cameron Smith (cards too) and a range of cards from Ester Tacke featuring wildlife and bicycles .
Through this website paintings are sold unframed and prints / works on paper are sold unmounted for ease of delivery . For now I am only offering a selection my product for sale on this site so please visit the gallery/ studio when you are next in Kirkcudbright to see the full range. Richard
